Ms. Hines will share her thoughts on avoiding common reasons for delays at import, observations on FSMA and FSVP inspections and give an update on the Northeast Region's activities.

"A Hassle-Free Approach to Developing a Robust Foreign Supplier Verification Program"

Importers have a new enormous responsibility - developing an FSVP for every food from every foreign supplier. The presenter will explain how to develop a robust program using examples from high-risk and low-risk food products. The presenter will explain simple approaches to doing hazard analysis, approval of foreign suppliers for low- and high-risk food products, verification and re-evaluation of foreign suppliers. The session will include two case studies, one for the high-risk and another for low-risk category of foods. The session will be highly interactive and participants will be able to ask questions relevant to their area of operations.
