Companies that market products that will be sold in California must adhere to the labeling regulations set forth by Proposition 65. On Aug. 30, significant changes to the regulation’s labeling and warning requirements will go into effect. These changes might mean companies will need to make changes to their product labels and internet retail platforms or be subjected to liability, including steep penalties.
